Jerry Lapp, 63, St. Paul, MN, died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Richfield Health Center, Richfield, MN.

Visitation will be at Lien-Straub Funeral Chapel from 3:00-3:30 PM Friday with interment following at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Eureka, SD. Memorial services will begin at Lien-Straub 4:30 PM Friday with Jerry’s brother, Rev. Bill Lapp, leading the service. Organist will be John Reineking and the congregation will sing "Amazing Grace", "Softly and Tenderly", and "Jesus Loves Me".

Jerry Lee Lapp, son of Ada (Wiest) and Bernhardt Lapp, was born April 16, 1949 in Brown County, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, including his step-father Rev. Alfred Reineking. Jerry spent his first five years on a farm outside of Eureka. After the death of his father the family lived in Eureka and Wishek, ND. They moved to Schaller, IA with their step-father in 1957, and later to Hamburg, MN. Jerry spent the rest of his adult years living at various locations in Minnesota. He enjoyed playing the piano, watching Twins baseball, and was fascinated by and raised tropical fish.

Jerry is survived by three brothers - Bill (Donna) Lapp of Wildwood, MO, Richard (Bonnie) Reineking of Grafton, WI, and John (Kathy) Reineking of Duluth, GA; and one sister Annyce Reineking (John) Oswald of Eden Prairie, MN. He was uncle to Mandy (Julian) Varga, Joel Lapp, Kendra Lapp, Nace Oswald, and Paige Oswald; and was great-uncle to Sean, Zachary and Trinity Varga.

Casketbearers will be Barry Lapp and Carey Lapp of Eureka, Jeff Wiest of Ashley, ND., Perry Wiest of Jamestown, ND, John Oswald of Eden Prairie, MN, and John Reineking of Duluth, GA.

Jerry’s family prefers memorials to the Music Department at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church, 15470 County Rd 31, Hamburg, MN 55339.

Lien-Straub Funeral Chapel, Eureka, is in charge of arrangements.
