Tadeusz Motowidlo, 89, Agoura Hills, CA, died Monday, February 25, 2013 at West Hills Hospital, West Hills, CA. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Hoven, with Father Kevin Doyle, Celebrant. Organist will be Alice Simon and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Choir will sing “Be not Afraid”, “Ave Maria”, “Father of Peace”, “You Are Mine”, “Song of Farewell”, and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”. Offertory gift bearers will be Penny and Parker Luetzen of Great Falls, MT, Madison, and Aaron and Haley Gremler of Des Moines, IA. Lector will be Linda Feldmeier, mass servers will be Jacob and Peter Rausch, and Eucharistic Minister will be Chuck Simon. Interment follows at the Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass Saturday.

Tadeusz Motowidlo, the youngest child of Antonina (Sebzda) and Bazyli Motowidlo, was born July 16, 1923 in Hucisko-Jaw, Poland. He met his wife, Bronislawa (Blanche) Gottfryd in Lauf, Germany during WWII where they were Polish prisoners forced to work in German labor camps.

Following the war, in April 1949, he was able to immigrate to America with his wife and his eldest daughter, Helen. They settled in Hoven, became US citizens and had five more daughters. He operated his business, Tadd’s Plumbing, for many years.

He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for over 50 years before he relocated to California in 2002 to be near family.

He loved people, jokes, Friday night boxing and brewing and serving his “cherry juice.”

Tadd is survived by five daughters—Helen Gremler of Des Moines, IA, Donna (Don) Burroughs of Agoura Hills, CA, Ann (Terry) Meier of West Hills, CA, Barbara Meyer of Great Falls, MT, and Melinda Motowidlo of Tulsa, OK; eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on October 24, 1996, one infant daughter, four brothers, and two sisters.

Honorary bearers will be Helen Gremler of Des Moines, IA, Barbara Meyer and Stacey Luetzen of Great Falls, MT, Melinda Motowidlo and Lindsey Hageman of Tulsa, OK, Chrissie Lam of Simi Valley, CA, and Brittany Burroughs of Agoura Hills, CA.

Casketbearers will be Brent, Bryan, Terry and Ann Meier of West Hills, CA; Don and Donna Burroughs of Agoura Hills, CA; Mark and John Gremler of Des Moines, IA
